Morocco Militarizes Its Borders With Algeria
Morocco armed forces begun to build 10 control posts adjacent to the land border with Algeria under the pretext of “stopping the smuggling mafia and infiltration of terrorists”, after Algeria moved to build border posts along the border line with the cities of Oujda, Berkane, Taourirt and Jaradah.
“Morocco Border Guards’ number will increase to provide security information, control the movement of smuggling cells and face the terrorist threats that are coming from the Sahel and Sahara countries, which seek to penetrate the region”, the Moroccan newspaper Al-Masa’a reported on Saturday.
The same Moroccan newspaper added that, “A high-level committee that is composed of officials of the Royal Armed Forces and the auxiliary forces visited a number of control posts of the Royal Navy, after officials reached information on the increasing activity of smugglers in the area, especially near the border security fence at the Algerian borders”.
The Mekhzene offers false approaches to Algeria, especially on the security side, to the extent that the director of the Central Office of Judicial Research, Abdelhak al-Khiam, claimed that “the whole south of Algeria is under the control of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb” (..) which are the lies that are revealed by the reality, and even testimonies of officials in Western countries.
Moroccan officials avoid talking about “convoys” of their citizens who joined the terrorist organizations abroad, as statistics indicate that there are 1600 Moroccans in ISIS, and 300 elements in the terrorist organization in Libya.
