Mourad Zemali: “Retirement Fund Pays Pensions To One Million Beneficiaries Of Relative Retirement”

Government pumped DZD 500 billion in order to restore the financial balances of the social security system, Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister, Mourad Zemali, said.

“More than one million people benefit from the relative end pre-retirement out of 3.2 million retired”.

In his inauguration ceremony, Mourad Zemali, was accompanied with the Health Minister, Mokhtar Hasbalaoui, and he said that the committee is composed of representatives from the Labor and Health Ministry, the General Directorate of the Public Service and the National Statistics Bureau, professors, heads of hospital and university departments experts in the field who are appointed by the social security sector, who will be charged with proposing a list of hard working positions, and the minimum period that will be filled in these positions and the criteria that entitle the right to reduce the retirement age within this framework. 

The Minister added that this is about a joint sector committee that is comprising experts who will be charged with technical and scientific work that will be qualified to consult the relevant sectors, social and economic partners and trade unions that are accredited to workers and employers. 

“The major rules of the national social security system, Illness, maternity insurance, work accidents, occupational diseases, unemployment insurance, death and retirement”.

“The system currently provides social coverage for more than 39 million citizens, in addition to other groups, especially the needy and people with special needs, thanks to the contribution of the state, and allows more than 3.2 million people to benefit from retirement”.

The minister reiterated that the national system of social security and retirement is defined as financial difficulties that are related to several social, economic and demographic factors, which are mainly due to the generosity of this system, which provides extensive services to a large number of beneficiaries, even those who do not contribute directly to it.

“The number of beneficiaries from relative retirement and pre-retirement without age requirement is currently more than one million of the total of 3.2 million beneficiaries of the Pension Fund and the value of pensions in this framework is amounted to about DZD 450 billion”.
