Ould Abbas: “Boumediene's Death Was Not Normal”
Death of the former Algerian President, Houari Boumediene, was not normal, General Secretary of the National Liberation Front, Djamal Ould Abbas, said on Tuesday, during a press conference that was held at the FLN party headquarters in Algiers.
“The secrets about the death of the late President, Houari Boumediene, begun to appear, without giving details of the sudden statement”.
The late President, Houari Boumediene, served as President of the Republic on June 19, 1965, following a military coup against Ahmed Ben Bella, and remained Algeria President until his death on December,27, 1978.
On the other hand, Djamal Ould Abbas admitted that FLN failed to achieve high percentages in the recent local elections due to what he described as “mistakes that were made by local officials” .
“Some local officials were the cause of failure of FLN in six provinces, expressing dissatisfaction on the results that were achieved in 34 local councils.
Ould Abbas also called on the activists to implement the program of the President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, saying: “Whoever does not implement the President’s program does not sit with us at the table”.
“2019 will be FLN’s best year, and we are ready and armed to participate in the next Presidential Elections. FLN has a historical legitimacy”.
He addressed the party’s rivals by saying; “FLN has a historical legitimacy, and those who don’t agree with it should take a medicine!”
