Over 100 Turkish businessmen visit Algeria to boost economic cooperation

President Bouteflika met, on Wednesday, his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is paying a two days’ official visit to Algeria.

Algerian Turkish business forum discussed strengthening the partnership between the two countries in Algiers Sheraton Hotel.

According to APS, the meeting was attended by National Assembly Chairman, Abdelkader Ben Saleh and Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, and the Deputy Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army Major General, Ahmad Gaid Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra, Energy Minister Youcef Yousfi, and Minister of Industry and Mines Abdessalam Bouchouareb.

Turkish President, who was elected last summer is visiting Algeria at the invitation of President Bouteflika, under the “continuous strengthening of relationships between the two countries”, which are linked by a treaty of friendship and cooperation that was signed in 2006.

Many Algerian institutions and over 100 Turkish businessmen participated in the forum, and came within the delegation that is led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Algeria aims to push the pace of industrial sector and raise the volume of exports outside the hydrocarbon sector.
