General Directorate for National Security identified a number of conditions for those wishing to attend the first Police Academy in Algeria, related to age and the rate of success in baccalaureate, and duration of training at the academy, before they graduate as police officers or administrative judicial police, or urban, as students will receive paramilitary training.

Sources from the Department of Education and Schools at the General Directorate of Security told Echorouk that the Police Academy will be modelled on the military academy of the various arms of Cherchell, and the conditions will be the same, as those wishing to be enrolled in the police academy must possess a baccalaureate graduation, at a rate of more than 12.50 / 20 and are subject to paramilitary trainingfor 5 years to be graduated with the rank of police officer, which is the difference between the academy and the school of police, as those who will attend the schools are graduated from universities, and receive a two years’ training before they graduate as officers, as the training period is estimated to six full years.

“Police officers at the academy will receive a basic training in three police basic disciplines, and it comes to judicial, administrative andurban police, as professors in the police corps will provide education and training, and doctors in law and economics as well.

“Police Academy provides the baseband for students from Class Dean or a police officer, as well as ongoing training for agents under theservice, as determining how the organization and method of training at the academy, teachers and trainers in accordance with theorganizational style”.

Academy will organize under its own responsibility, national competitions and assign students at the ranks of brigadier general or officer, among students with a certificate from the police academy, as they are relying on the university community to reach a higher level of research and study, analysis, and benefit from the knowledge and experience that are owned by the best Algerian university researchers andthinkers, if theose agents take advantage of the training or education for the benefit of the profession is granted in accordance with the law”.
