Railway traffic paralysed due to the protest of drivers

Trains’ drivers launched a strike, to protest against what they described as a campaign of distortion against them, after the train derailment accident of last Wednesday, not to mention the delay in the disbursement of their monthly wage, and after the Ministerial Investigative Committee put all the responsibility on the driver on the grounds of excessive speed.

Railway Traffic noticed on Tuesday a total paralysis, after drivers engage in a strike, as all the trip towards the eastern or western regions stopped, thus preventing a lot of workers, passengers and students from reaching their work and premises.

Sudden strike was launched by drivers, as some sources said the drivers syndicate denounced accusation against drivers of neglecting their work and being the cause of the accident, and the distortion campaign that aims to distort their reputation, as they appealed the inquiry results, arguing that the incident is a result of the deplorable conditions of their exploitation.

Travellers of the train has expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the state of idleness in the railway traffic,after it was frozen for four days, after the train accident, which killed a lady in the fifties and caused 100 wounded, before the drivers stopped suddenly and without any accident warning.
