Riyad Mahrez Reveals Details Of His Failure To Join Arsenal

Algeria international and Leicester city striker, Riyad Mahrez, revealed details and reasons about his failure to join Arsenal during the last transfer period, although he had 50% of the chances to play for this club.

“I do not know exactly what happened, it’s football, we can not imagine how things end”, said Mahrez in a long interview with the Daily Mail newspaper. 

“Leicester did not want to sell me, and the club’s administration said there would be no problem if there will be an offer, but in the backstage they stopped things … They talked to a number of teams, but they did not want me to leave”.

On the other hand, Mehrez went on to discuss what had happened to him in detail during the last day of last summer’s transfers, when the FAF and its head, Khaireddine Zatchi, allowed him to leave the Greens camp, which was facing an important match against Zambia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

 “That day, the national team allowed me to leave the internship, to complete a transfer that was about to complete for me, so I got a plane from Algeria to Paris, and then I did not stop reading a lot of news. I was late to face Zambia because it was not possible to find a plane that would take me back to Algeria to accompany my team mates to Zambia”.

Mehrez told the Daily Mail that he had changed his agent, and he hired a new business agent to handle the work of a number of Brazilian stars in England, who are Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Chelsea star David Luiz and Willian.
