Security Services Foil Attempts To Hack Into Algérie Télécom Information System

Algérie Télécom announced on Friday that its information system was exposed in recent days to a series of attacks that aimed at shutting it down.

 A statement by the company, which copy was obtained by Echorouk Online, said that all their attempts failed.

It explained that “the technical teams that are entrusted with securing information systems within the institution in cooperation with the authorized security services intervened to neutralize these attacks and secure various operational platforms.”

“On Thursday, November 16, 2017, there was an upsurge in attacks, which indicates the apparent desire of the cyber criminal behind this attack to create congestion on the company’s communications network”.

“Security services were able to identify the concerned person, and the situation was controlled without any complications”.

Algérie Télécom assured its customers that its technical teams are doing their best to ensure continuity of service.

The official in charge of communication at the company told Echorouk Online that security investigations are still underway to identify the perpetrators, and refused to give further details.
