Sidi Said accuses Tunisian Union leader Tlili of seeking to sow turmoil in Algeria in exchange for a 7,000 dollar pay

The general Secretary of the General Union of Algerian workers (UGTA), Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, said Wednesday in Algiers that the UGTA was “mobilised” to thwart any attempt aimed at scuttling the unity of the Algeria and the Republican regime.

In a speech at the opening of the proceedings of the first session of the Executive Committee of the UGTA, M. Sidi Saïd said that the union “will oppose any attempt aimed at undermining the Republican nature of the country’s regime and its national unity”.

Mr Sidi Said accused in this connection the international confederation of trade unions and the tTunisian general workers union “UGTT” of seeking to torpedo covertly the Algerian UGTA and thereby dragging stable Algeria into turmoil and unrest.

He overtly accused “UGTT” leader, Tunisian Ahmed Tlili of manipulating behind the scenes the Algerian independent “CNAPESTE” union for this nefarious scheming hatched against the stability and cohesion of Algeria.

Mr Abdelmadjid Sidi Said further revealed that exposed “plotter” Ahmed Tlili was receiving 7 thousand dollars a month from the international confederation of trade unions in his vile endeavour aimed at steeping stable Algeria into the cycle of the so-called “Arab Spring” which wreaked havoc and turmoil in other Arab countries over the past few years.

The UGTA “rejects any attempt aimed at destabilizing the country or jeopardizing the manifold achievements of the Algerian workers”, he hammered.

All issues may be the subject of debate on the national scene with the exception ofnational unity and the Republican regime, he argued.

The Union leader recalled that the mobilization of structures and foundations of the UGTA to defend these cases “emanates from the deep conviction anchored in all workers”.

Mr. Sidi Saïd recalled the tragedy of Algeria in the 1990s, claiming that the countrywas “alone against terrorism on which he has triumphed thanks to the mobilization ofall the people who had contributed to the eradication of this heinous scourge”.
