Street rallies to uphold the lofty Prophet of Islam in Algeria

The street marches and rallies across Algeria upholding the noble Prophet of Islam, Mohamed, God’s peace and blessings be upon him, held after Friday prayers were meant to demonstrate the Algerian people’s crystal-clear position firmly rejecting the abuse of their venerated Messenger and advocating the boycott and the taking of legal proceedings against all those who helped in the posting of 5 million copies of the blameworthy French magazine “Charlie Hebdo” to again make fun of lofty Prophet Mohamed, God’s peace and blessings be upon him peace be upon him, in its new editions.

Preparations for such massive rallies have been on for several days to coincide with the Friday prayers. In so doing, hundreds of giant banners in support of the holy Prophet (PBUH) were put together, and the countless organizers embarked on a virtual drive on social networking sites to mobilize the people to participate massively in Friday’s street rallies under the paramount slogan: “We are all Mohamed.”

This slogan was meant to express the Algerian Muslims’ deep attachment to and veneration of noble Prophet Mohamed, (PBUH) and to voice their strong condemnation of the “disgusting” and “vile” renewed cartoons published by the French satirical magazine in wanton defiance of other peoples’ religious precepts and values by hiding behind an alleged “freedom of expression”.

Imams or religious preachers and representatives of civil society as well as those of political parties backed up the street rallies and marches and urged citizens to express their utter rejection and firm condemnation of such despicable cartoons offending the noble Prophet of Islam.

The urged the marchers and those involved in the rallies to behave peacefully and to observe law and order in order to ward off any damaging drifts after securing the go-ahead from the relevant authorities

The MSP movement was among the first parties to bolster the Friday marches by mobilizing millions of young people and social media activists to spearhead awareness-raising campaigns to prompt citizens to participate in these street rallies to highlight their wholehearted defense of noble Prophet Mohamed, God’s peace and blessings be upon him, like all other Muslims in the four corners of the world.
