Téji Savanier: “I Never Declared That I Wanted To Play With The Algerian Selection”

Téji Savnier officially announced his refusal to play with the Algerian national team, in a post on Instagram, adding that wearing the France Team jersey is a childhood dream.

The Montpellier midfielder indicated that his grandfather was born in Algeria, and always spoke to him about Algeria, his childhood, and his beautiful country.

Téji never played with France, which allows him to wear the “Desert Warriors’ jersey.

“I never declared that I wanted to play with the Algerian selection

“I have not stated on any occasion that I want to play for the Algerian national team. I take this opportunity to clarify things. It never crossed my mind, it was never questioned”, he explained.

“I’m proud of what my grandfather is, proud of his story which is also that of my family and of the man that I am, I take this opportunity to tell him how much I admire him as a grandson”.

Recently invited to France Blue Hérault, Téji Savanier (29) spoke of his international dreams.
