Terrorist Chieftain Zitouni ordered execution of Tibhirine Monks after army shelling
A terrorist named “K. Redouane” who was standing trial before the Criminal Court of the capital Algiers on charges of belonging to an armed terrorist group, provided to the judge details about the heinous murder of the seven Tibhirine Monks in central Medea province by members of the “Armed Islamic terrorist Group “GIA” way back in 1996.
The accused, who was himself a member of the “GIA” terrorist group from 1995 to 2004, affirmed he was present in the high mountainous region of “Bouguera” accompanied by the ringleader of the terrorist group, namely Djamal Zitouni, and was a witness of the kidnapping and ensuing murder of the seven Trappist monks.
He further revealed that that the Monks had been imprisoned along with several members of a dissident terrorist grouping “Al Djazara” then headed by Mustapha Kertaly who broke away from the “GIA” in 1996.
He also declared that the kidnapping of the seven Monks from their “Lady of Atlas” Monastery was carried out on the orders of the chieftain of the “Awlad Salama” terrorist battalion.
The accused further revealed to the Court that the hideous beheading of the seven Monks was then ordered by “GIA” ringleader Djamal Zitouni himself, after the launching by ANP troops of bombing raids against the Talassana terrorist hide-outs, adding that the heads of the assassinated Monks were later thrown away by “GIA” terrorists somewhere in Médéa region in the aftermath of the military operation.
