Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, met, on Tuesday, with the US Ambassador to Algeria, John Desrocher.
“I was honored to meet the Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, to discuss ways and means of strengthening bilateral relationships between Algeria and the United States of America”; the US ambassador wrote on Twitter.
The US ambassador to Algeria recently launched a series of meetings with officials and leaders of political parties, and he began these meetings with the General Secretary of the National Liberation Front Party, Djamal Ould Abbas.
He also met with the chairman of the Movement for a Society of Peace, Abderraazzam Makri, and before him the head of Talaie El Houriat party, Ali Ben Flis, and the leader of the National Democratic Rally Party, Abdelkader Ben Saleh.
Although the statements that follow the meetings that were held by the American ambassador with these personalities, that they do not exceed the discussion on bilateral relationships, but observers believe that these meetings are part of the sense of the pulse on the situation in Algeria, after the accelerated events, and the most recent controversy about the recent instruction by the President of the Republic to the Government, which stipulates on the obligation to reach his prior consent to any agreement on the opening of capital or a waiver of shares of an economic public institution within the framework of the Private Partnership that is agreed at the Tripartite Meeting between the Government, the General Union of Algerian Workers and the Forum of Heads of Enterprises, that was held last December.
