US Embassy in Algeria set to spearhead broad-based meeting about shale gas!

The US Embassy in Algiers plans to arrange a broad-based meeting devoted to the ins and outs of the exploitation of shale gas in Algeria next Thursday in Algiers, by inviting former officials as well as Algerian experts and representatives of several oil companies from the United States to be in attendence.

The participants will delve into the reality of shale gas and the possibility of exploiting this unconventional gas in Algeria and will also consider its expected economic feasibility.

According to reliable sources, the US Ambassador in Algeria, her Excellency Mrs Joan Polashik, attended Thursday a meeting in Algiers to study this important file and to listen the views of the experts from both countries.

The US Embassy also wants America to provide recommendations and advice to stakeholders on the issue of shale gas based on studies by specialists in this field by highlighting the overall risks and the precautions to be taken during the process of shale gas exploration and exploitation.
