French National Assembly MP, M’jid El Guerrab, of Moroccan origins, called on the French authorities to work on raising the number of free candidates for the French Baccalaureate in Algeria at the international secondary school, Alexandre Dumas, in view of the limited number of students who are currently able to pass this test through the free system, due to the lack of classrooms and guards, and the age factor.

El Guerrab said in a parliamentary question to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs that he is drawing the Minister’s attention to the possibility of receiving secondary school students from Algeria to pass the French baccalaureate exam as free candidates.

“French Alexandre Dumas secondary school in Algeria is facing in recent years a great rise for candidates who are wishing to pass the BAC exams as free candidates”.

“It is not possible to guarantee the reception of all free candidates, since the allowed number is determined based on the age factor”.

“In 2016, for example, 460 students sit for the bac exams, and in 2017 the situation was more complex as 800 Algerian candidates could not sit for the baccalaureate exam as free candidates”.

He attributed the failure of 800 students to sit for the French baccalaureate as free candidates, to the lack of classrooms and human framework to ensure adequate guard operations.

The French MP concluded by asserting that the Alexandre Dumas secondary has opened a branch in Oran, so it is necessary to know whether the Algerian free candidates have managed to sit for the baccalaureate session for 2018.

“It is necessary to know if the the number of Algeria free candidates who have managed to pass the French baccalaureate as free candidates, and those who could not because of this rejection (age and lack of halls and guards)”.

The Alexandre Dumas International Secondary School in Algiers Ben Aknoun and its branch in Oran apply the French program, and the students sit for the French baccalaureate and it have opened their doors at the school year 2002-2003.
