Algerian students in Egypt subjected to harassments
- A number of Algerian houses in El Maadi, El Faisal, Giza, the cityX and VII, and El Bouth, have been attacked by Egyptians, as an Algerian professor was prevented from attending the university as well.
- “I appealed to the Algerian embassy in order to be deported along with hundreds of Algerians who have become targets, especially after the statements of the president’s son Ala Mobarek. Residents of Al Madi district have cut electricity and water then surrounded the Algerians’ houses. Racism by the Egyptians arrived to its limits, when an Egyptian was severely beaten because he bought some food for the Algerians”, the Algerian professor says.
- “Egyptians refused to sell food for us, including bread and prevent us from joining our embassy in Zamalek district”, an Algerian student told Echorouk.
- Students have been prevented from joining their universities and institutes, as more than 50 students out of 200 were subjected to harassments and beatings.
- The number of Algerian students living in Egypt is ranged between 500 and 600, mostly belonging to the Institute of Arab Studies and Research, as 1000 students are studying non-permanently in the Egyptian universities and institutes.
- “Our living conditions are difficult in Egypt, as our families help us from time to time”, Algerian students said.
- The number of Algerians living in Egypt, according to the Algerian ambassador to Egypt, is 2795 living permanently in Egypt, most of them, are students.
- On the other hand, Egyptians living in Algeria returned to their normal life, as Egyptians opened their shops for selling carpets, and Egyptian furniture in Algiers, Blida, Oran, Ain Temouchent, and Meghnia, west of Algeria, as no Egyptian was subjected to harassment in Algeria.

What is happing now is not good for Algeria more than Egypt, cuz Egyptian govt wants another enemy other than Israel, Algeria is perfect cuz it doesnt have good relations with the westren world, which in turn will excite the hatred between the two countries.
