A group of Algerian students have informed Echourok in a telephone call that Egyptians yesterday attacked houses in the compounds of AL Mounib ad Al Maadi Parks, where their fellow Algerians live.

  • At the moment where these helpless students sought help from the Egyptian security forces, they’ve been told” We can protect you from death but not from insults and attacks”.
  • The second year Master studies student at the Arab Surveys and Researches Institute of Cairo, Attef, has indicated that their Iraqi and Palestinian friends at the same institute took on them to supply the Algerian students with food and other commodities, adding that both the Algerian flight company and the airport are besieged by Egyptians to track the movements of the Algerians.
  • More than 200 Algerian students living in Egypt called on the Algerian authorities to facilitate their repatriation to their home country.

salam, what a shame just a game turned into a harassment. i think by now the algeriean authorities should intervene for a restraining order to protect our citizens residing in egypt. I understood the algerian didnt want to play the same game and put themselves to the lowest level but now they have to condemn whats happening to our flag burned and students being attacked.

I think egyptians are loosing their minds over a soccer game. Hurting innocents students is against humanity, and against our believes as muslims. I'm against violence either on algerian or egyptians. I hope the egyptian authorities would have the decency to make an end to all of this nonsense.
